Inspiration & Creation
One of my fondest childhood memories was coming home from school on a hot day to a special treat- a cool refreshing blackcurrant cordial called Ribena. In later years as I began baking, I learned that currants in general point towards continual love and friendship. With the marriage of mint, which symbolizes protection and warm feelings, the Blackcurrant Fresca is the perfect beverage to share as friends catch up on life events.
As a gin lover, I chose Tanqueray 10 for the base of this creation. It’s luxurious finish blends well with the sweet and tart flavors. It pairs well with a nice cheese and meat platter as an alternative to wine. The Blackcurrant Fresca is easy to make for a house party and suggests light-hearted friendship from the very first sip.
