1 Piece of Kiwi
2 Pieces of White Grapes
¼ Lemon Squeezed
Drop of Agave Nectar
1oz Greygoose La Poire Vodka
1oz Domaine De Canton
Tonic Water
Muddle kiwi, grapes, agave, and lemon juice in a shaker. Add ice, vodka, and canton, and shake well. Pour into a glass and top with more ice and tonic water. Garnish with a thin slice of pear.

The In8love potion is fruity with fresh pulp, light on the palate, and refreshing.
Inspiration
About 3 months ago, I found myself bound in physical pain. An old dance injury had flared up in the upper vertebrae of my back. The stress of my recent and drastic life transitions, my physically taxing work as a bartender, and my monotonous hours driving Uber only intensified the pain. Unable to move my neck freely, I walked about looking like a mix between a pregnant woman and a robot.
After some searching on the internet my wife found an affordable chiropractor close to our home. I walked in looking for a quick fix to get myself back to my rigorous work schedule. However, at In8love Chiropractic, I soon discovered that the discipline of chiropractic is a life practice rather than a quick fix.
Dr. Tanya Reynolds-Machida’s passion for Chiropractic began as a teenager following a traumatic car accident and a cancer threat. Her healing occurred gradually but steadily with manual manipulations, adjustments, and dietary changes. No drugs, surgery, or shots whatsoever! Since then, she has devoted herself to helping patients develop lasting and healthy lifestyles. She and her team create a haven of care and positive energy at her practice. In addition, I have been moved by their concern for the environment as well as care and advocacy for the impoverished. In essence, In8love is comprised of a passionate team of world changers.
Over the last few months as I have gone through my exercises and spent time with my neck braced against a traction device, I have had a lot of time to reflect on the body that encompasses my vibrant soul. We often underestimate the innate ability of the body to heal itself naturally. Rather than taxing it, we are simply charged to join our bodies in renewal of mind, body, and soul with healthy lifestyles.
So this week, I present the In8love Potion, a fruity concoction with fresh pulp that is light on the palate and refreshing to the intake.
Creation
The first fruit muddled in the In8love Potion is kiwi, a symbol of plenty and tidings of good things to come. It’s fuzzy exterior depicts the obstacles that stand in the way of what we aspire towards. Just as this skin is easily removed, obstacles can be easily overcome. The sweet, exotic flesh of the kiwi, which is void of anything inedible shows that true healing is untouched by the obstacles that threatens us. Lemon is symbolic of purification. It also contains anti-cancer properties and is often used as a cleaning agent. Grapes protect and strengthen the heart. Ginger aids in digestion and is associated with power.
The hero of the in8love cocktail is the pear. The ancient Chinese believed that the pear was symbolic of immortality because pear trees live for a long time. Pears are also loaded with dietary fiber and are a good source of potassium. Even with its naturally sweet juices, an average sized pear is only 100 calories.
The combination of pear vodka and ginger liqueur, shaken with the freshly muddled fruits result in a light and addictive cocktail perfect for a hot summer day. Partake in my symbolic potion and celebrate the innate and magical powers of the human body, which is continually renewed by the power that created it.
